With its larger sensor, higher MP, AF and adjustable aperture, the Mavic 2 Pro's still image quality is very impressive to me. It's not quite as sharp at the corners as my EF 16-35 f4 IS, but it's way up there in the central portion of the frame.
Here's a couple of still shots taken this morning, as I was familiarizing myself with the drone's controls and features.
Shooting info - Bued River Bridge, Rosario, La Union, April 22, 2019, DJI Mavic 2 Pro, 10.30 mm (28 mm equiv.), f/4, ISO 100, 1/200 sec., single frame cropped into a 2:1 panorama. |

Romy.. great pics with the new Drone--
been following your Blog a long time as you are the best of the best with BIF's
just a quick question... I had the Mavic Air and a big problem with it pairing up with the DJI app on my Note 9 phone so I returned it... between the two Drones--Mavic Air and Mavic Pro-- which one do you feel is the overall better one considering price..performance and quality...
many thanx :)
I used the Mavic Air first, then now the Mavic 2 Pro as well. If I were to choose only one, it will be the Mavic 2 Pro by a wide margin.
The image quality (including DR) is way better, the controller signal is much more stable and the flight time is much longer. As far as stills are concerned, the Mavic 2 Pro's lens is very sharp at the center from f/2.8 to about f/6.3. The corners are less sharp but improves well by f/4 to f/5.6.
The Mavic air is good, but the 2 Pro is way better.
